Andrew Mitchell drew a pint at the Gate Inn pub on Mill Street to congratulate the owners on winning the prestigious Regional Pubs in Bloom award. Joined by Councillor Ewan Mackey, Andrew was shown the award-winning displays, and pulled a ‘perfect pint’ before hearing about the history of this historic Sutton Coldfield site – previously the Toll House, then renamed “The Case is Altered”, now reborn as the Gate Inn.
The award recognises its contributions to the local environment and an innovative approach to external décor.
Andrew Mitchell said “I have thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon here, and appreciate the work the pub does not only in serving my constituents, but also in making a strong contribution to our local environment”.
