Andrew Mitchell MP addressed a Big Breakfast for Malawi which raised £400 for vital charity work in the poor African country.
Andrew Mitchell spoke to an audience of nearly 100 people from across Sutton Coldfield and elsewhere as they enjoyed a continental breakfast at St Columba’s Church, Banners Gate. The money raised will be divided between Malawi Birmingham Partnership and Medic Malawi and will help provide school supplies and build medical facilities.
Andrew Mitchell MP said, “I was delighted to speak at the Big Breakfast for Malawi. The Church of England Diocese of Birmingham has a long-standing link with the Anglican Church in Malawi and I was encouraged to see so many of my constituents supporting the good work of the Diocese.”
Reverend Richard Tucker said: “We were delighted so many gathered to hear Andrew Mitchell speaking about the ways in which the British Government is supporting the development of Malawi, one of the world’s poorest nations, and answering questions about how charities and Christian churches can help.”
