Andrew Mitchell MP has visited the Sutton Coldfield campus of Birmingham Metropolitan College to speak to approximately 200 Sixth Form students about politics and to take part in a thorough question and answer session.
Mr Mitchell was greeted by Politics Lecturer Simon Foster. He then addressed a large group of Sixth Form students, speaking firstly about his role as Sutton Coldfield’s MP but also his position as Secretary of State for International Development.
The audience consisted of students studying AS and A2 Politics, AS and A2 Sociology, A2 History, AS and A2 Law, AS and A2 Business Studies and a range of AS students.
Mr Mitchell then answered a diverse range of questions ranging from Wikileaks to the bailout of RBS. Of particular interest to the eager students were the issues of Palestinian Statehood at the UN and the ongoing violence in Syria as well as NATO involvement in Libya.
Andrew Mitchell MP said, “I always enjoy visiting schools and colleges throughout Sutton Coldfield.”
