Andrew Mitchell was re-elected to serve the Royal Town in Parliament with an increased share of the vote and more votes than in 2010. All five candidates for the City Council elections were elected, Maureen Cornish in Sutton Four Oaks, David Pears in Sutton Trinity, Lyn Collin in Sutton Vesey and two candidates in Sutton New Hall; David Barrie who was re-elected and a new councillor in Alex Yip.

Andrew was declared the winner shortly before 4:00 on Friday morning with local election counts taking place in the afternoon.
The result of the General Election was:
Con, Andrew Mitchell: 27,782 (54.6 per cent)
Lab: 11,365 (22.3 per cent)
UKIP: 7,489 (14.7 per cent)
Lib Dem 2,627 (5.2 per cent)
Greens:1,462 (2 per cent)
Ubunthu: 165 (0.3 per cent)
Conservative Majority 16,417
