Andrew Mitchell MP has made his annual Christmas tour of Sutton Coldfield’s emergency services and the postal sorting office to thank those who work throughout Christmas on behalf of the local community.
Mr Mitchell started the tour with a visit to Royal Mail’s Sutton Coldfield delivery office where he met Manager Stephen Caulton and many of the postmen and women who deliver Christmas post to Sutton’s 49,000 addresses.
Andrew then toured Good Hope Hospital with Dr Mark Newbold, Chief Executive and Sue Moore, Managing Director.
Ending the Christmas tour at Sutton Coldfield’s Police and Fire Stations, Mr Mitchell met Chief Superintendent James Andronov where he thanked both stations for their hard work over the year and the coming festive season.
Andrew Mitchell MP said, “We are all very much aware that many of the emergency service staff, along with our servicemen and women in the armed forces will be on duty over the period when the rest of us in Sutton celebrate the festive season with family and friends.
“Their dedication throughout the year is greatly appreciated and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them on behalf of all of us in Sutton Coldfield.”
Since becoming Sutton’s Member of Parliament in 2001 Andrew has always visited the town’s emergency services and postal sorting office just before Christmas to thank all those who work hard in the run up to and during the festive season.
