Andrew Mitchell MP joined staff from Tesco’s New Oscott Store to celebrate the success of four local schools in the Tesco scheme which gives schools the chance to exchange vouchers earned with shopping bought at Tesco for a variety of useful items.
Mr Mitchell and Councillor Lyn Collin met with Store Manager, Jonathan Carrington, and Community Champion for Sutton Coldfield, Mick Sayce, as well as with teachers and young students from local schools to present the equipment.
The Schools that received equipment were:
· Banners Gate Junior School;
· New Oscott Primary School;
· Boldmere Infant School;
· St Nicholas Catholic Primary School.
Presenting the new equipment to the pupils and Head Teacher of Banners Gate Junior School, Andrew Mitchell MP said, “I would like to thank Tesco for their generous support to local schools and for their involvement and commitment to the local community.”
Following the event Councillor Lyn Collin, said “Pupils were extremely pleased with the items presented to Banners Gate and St Nicholas Schools who had collected the most vouchers. This is a great scheme which provides valuable resources for children in our schools in Vesey Ward.”
